As the watch world prepares for the release of the new products introduced at Baselworld 2015, we revisit my year-end “Top 10” lists for 2014, all originally posted on my blog, Watch-Insider.com. We have already looked at my favorite chronograph watches. This time, the focus is on last year’s top dress watches for men. To reiterate before we start, let me clarify that this is an alphabetical listing and not a ranking of dress watches and dress watch brands. As always, the dress watches listed here are my own personal favorites from the year. No jury has voted, no one has whispered anything into my ear, and — most importantly — no watch brand has paid me to be listed here.
If you would like more information about one of the watches on the list, please use the search function on my blog. I have reported on all of them during the past months, and you are likely to find many more pictures and additional technical information on them. Many of these dress watches have also been covered separately here on WatchTime.com.
Finally, I am interested in your own feedback. Which men’s dress watches presented are your favorites? Please use the comments section to let us all know what you think.
A. Lange & Söhne Grand Lange 1 Moonphase
The Lange 1 celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and this new 41-mm Grand Lange 1 Moonphase blew my mind. For this gorgeous and elegant timepiece, one picture says more than 1,000 words. But at A. Lange & Söhne, the fascination continues when you turn a watch around. Its movement, Caliber L095.3, is deserves a mention for its beauty as well. This is a must-have-timepiece if you can afford it, no matter the case material.

Blancpain Villeret 8 Jours
A modern caliber with an eight-day power reserve, a wonderfully executed white enamel dial, and three hands: that’s all you need to create an elegant wristwatch. Blancpain knows how to seduce, and not only with its sports watches. The 42-mm Villeret 8 Jours is available only in a rose-gold case; it is powered by the in-house Blancpain Caliber 13.

Habring2 Felix
This watch was made by Maria and Richard Habring in Carinthia in the south of my native Austria. I now offer these friends the respect they deserve for manufacturing their very first in-house caliber. To celebrate the first 10 years of the Habring2 brand, Maria and Richard presented their 38.5-mm Felix watch, equipped with the new Caliber A11.
